"Original vs. Fanart"

A drawing of two raccoons surrounded by a huge potted plant. They appear to be in love.

"Furtasia" (based off Marvin Rubin's album art for "Plantasia")

Recently I've been getting back into the groove of doing digital art after taking a bit of a break. I also made a new colored pencil brush for mimicking traditional art and it's been getting me really excited about drawing again! This honestly feels great; I love when inspiration hits and makes me feel really passionate about art! However, I feel like my subject matter--what I'm drawing--has changed a bit.

"Have at thy!"

While I've always drawn furry art and art of my original characters, I've hesistated to do it as much as I really want out of fear that I'll tire out my viewers. For some context, a lot of my "followers" have followed me because of my Mega Man fanart, most of which was made during a 2 or so year period while I was re-obsessing over the series. I mean, what can I say, I'm autistic and I love fictional robots (lol). That being said, my heart really lies with making art of silly animal characters, something that I've done practically my whole life! Some of my earliest art I made as a child was that of my cat, Werther, as an anthropomorphic feline superhero. Basically, this is a big roundabout way to say I want to upload more original and furry art in addition to the fanart I make.

Low-res sneak peek of a drawing I just made last night.

This isn't to say I'll stop making fanart; I love video games so much and I love drawing art of the characters and worlds in them. I just feel like I want to draw more of what makes me happy. So be prepared to see more furry and original character art on my social media accounts (especially raccoons, hehe)! I'm super excited to draw more original ideas and characters, and I hope you're excited to see them!

Okay, have an awesome day and I'll see you later!
